general skill migration includes 4 categories: skill matching, independent skill
migration, skill -- Australian sponsored and skill -- Designated Area sponsored.
The basic requirements are as follows: Must be under 45 when you apply; Bachelor
degree or trade qualification (such as chef); Vocational English; (IELTS (G)
5 score) At least one-year working experience, if your nominated occupation
is worth 60 points, you need at least 12 of 18 months immediately before applying;
if your nominated occupation is worth 40 or 50 points, you need at least 2 of
3 years immediately before applying.
1. Skill -- independent migration
includes many occupations, almost all kinds of careers. 60 points occupations
such as IT, Engineer, Accountant, translator (interpreter and translator), senior
manager, and trade workers such as chef, hairdresser, electrician and tailor etc.
Every occupation has own special assessment committee. The pass mark is 120 points. 2. Skill -- Australian sponsored migration
is designed for the applicants who have relatives in Aus, these relative should
be Aus citizen and have stable income. This category must pass points test. The
pass mark is 120 points. The applicants can get additional
points. 3. Skill -- Designated Area sponsored migration is designed for the
applicants who have relatives in designated area in Aus. These relatives should
be Aus. Citizen and have stable income. This category doesn't need to pass point
test, the applicants only reach the basic requirements of general skill migration.
4. Skill -- matching migration is designed for the skill -- independent applicants
whose points are lower than 120 points, but more than 70 points. These applicants
can put their files into Aus. Skill -- matching database. If regional employer
or State/Territory Government nominates them in 2 years, they can migrate to Aus.
That means, the period of validity for this application is 2 years.
